to warrant a decision. Below the threshold: noise.
Above it: intelligence.
Most operators never reach it — not because the signals
aren't there, but because nothing is designed to find
the threshold.
What we currently believe
- The synthesis step — between observation and decision —
is the most underserved part of complex operations.
- Existing tools solve adjacent problems: capture,
retrieval, search. Not synthesis.
- The people who feel this most acutely are running
multiple complex things simultaneously.
- Similar synthesis problems appear across very
different projects.
What we're investigating
- Whether signal quorum can be reliably reached inside
complex operations, and what it takes to get there.
- When accumulated operational experience becomes a
liability rather than an asset.
- Why patterns that are obvious in retrospect stay
invisible during operations.
- What the minimum viable signal set looks like for
a decision to be well-founded.
